Janice Mangion is a Maltese singer-songwriter first discovered on TV show L-Isfida before becoming a familiar name across local festivals such as Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza, Summer Hit Song Contest, L-Għanja tal-Poplu, MESC and Mużika Mużika. She achieved a major breakthrough with Kewkba at MESC 2017, placing 2nd and later representing Malta at international festivals in Belarus (Top 10 at Slaviansky Bazaar) and Bulgaria (Best Female Vocalist). Janice has since released several originals, including Warda, Xewqti, Għadu Mhux Il-Waqt, Sajjetta fil-Bnazzi, Teżor (with violinist George Curmi “Puse’”) and Army, her MESC 2022 entry. In 2024 she released Ġawhra f’Qalbi, co-written with Mark Scicluna, accompanied by a well-received video filmed at Palazzo Parisio. Closely associated with the festive season through Twieled il-Messija, Janice revisited Kewkba in 2025 at the OGAE Malta Pre-Party, reaffirming its status as one of her signature songs.
