Public Broadcasting Services is thrilled to announce the return of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest for 2026, promising an edition filled with vocal power, national pride, and “tons of surprises.”
This year’s national selection will be guided by a powerhouse trio of hosts who represent the very best of Maltese talent. Taking the stage to lead the festivities are popular broadcaster Keane Cutajar and Malta’s two Eurovision icons: Junior Eurovision winner and powerhouse vocalist Destiny Chukunyere, and Junior Eurovision champion Gaia Cauchi. Together, they bring a perfect blend of charisma, experience, and Eurovision legacy to the biggest stage in the country.
The theme for the 2026 edition is ‘L-ewwel lejla li ħabbejt’ (You never forget your first). This evocative theme celebrates the deep-rooted nostalgia and the instant spark of falling in love with music, the stage, and the magic of the Eurovision Song Contest itself. Whether it is a first performance or the first time a fan hears a winning melody, this year’s contest focuses on those unforgettable moments that stay in our hearts forever.
Fans can expect a high-octane production featuring the finest artists in the Maltese music scene, all vying for the honor of representing Malta on the international stage. The journey to find our next representative will unfold over two spectacular live shows:
- The Semi-Final: Thursday, 15th January 2026
- The Grand Final: Saturday, 17th January 2026
The energy of the MESC is best experienced live! Audience members will be treated to world-class performances, stunning visuals, and exclusive surprises that will only be revealed on the night.
